Abstract:

Implant-retained overdentures have emerged as a transformative solution for edentulous patients, offering significant advantages over traditional dentures. Implant-retained overdentures improve masticatory efficiency, speech, esthetics and function, while reducing bone resorption and enhancing patient satisfaction. They can be supported by as few as two implants in the mandible or four in the maxilla, depending on the clinical scenario.

Advances in implantology, including digital planning and minimally invasive techniques, have further streamlined the procedure, making it accessible to a broader patient population.This workshop reviews the biomechanics, clinical protocols, and patient outcomes associated with implant-retained overdentures, highlighting their role as a viable and effective treatment modality for edentulous patients.
